I have an overly thriving population of large (the adults seem to get to around 3/8”) amphipods in my sump that are apparently rather capable of eating macro algae.

Does anyone have any suggestions on a suitable sump dwelling creature that’d keep these guys in check, ideally without going after the copepods in the fuge as it’s a farm to feed my mandarin.

No problem in the DT as almost everything in there is a planktivore.

They self regulate their population based on available food sources. They are great to have in your sump.

Found my Filter Socks were the Bane of my Copepods. Got these and placed them in the bottom side of my filter socks, did the old ones first as an experiment. Now I have an explosion of Copepods. This may out compete some of the Amphipods.

Arrow crabs will eat amphipods (and bristle worms), and I doubt that they eat copepods. I don’t have any amphipods that large though.

Anything that eats a amp will eat a copepod. You have a abundant food source somewhere that's feeding them .
