I already do a lot of vacuuming, but the feathers run away from it. They tend to collect in certain areas of the room; they have a mind of their own.

Does he let you preen him? Getting those sheaths off will help him feel better. Ahh, springtime. Be careful as to not hit the blood feathers though.
He does. I love preening birds.

This is my chiller tube from my tank. It only receives outside light (sun)

Notice how there’s only coralline algae? Does kelvin temperature really influence green algae/diatoms???

Not true!!!

Look!

The best part is that I can leave my canopy closed 24/7 with the LEDs, so even if it was crooked, you guys can’t see it!

I set the blues to max and I barely added any whites. I think I much prefer blue tanks over whites. I want to maximize the fluorescence.

I prefer whites, but it needs to be a prefect crispy crisp with or else I don’t like it lol which is why I usually just have them under deep blues with a bit cool white

I had a few reasons why I am going back to LEDs.

First, I love T5s. There was nothing really wrong with them performance wise.

Here’s my thought process:

LED:
1) More controllability with spectrum.
2) I feel like I can go much higher with the par compared to T5
3) T5 bulbs will probably become much harder to get soon. BRS is back ordered on blue plus bulbs, and I saw a thread on how metal halide/T5 might be harder to find soon
4) the 2 fixtures became too hot to leave the canopy closed
5) I didn’t like the T5 dawn/dusk effect (not blue enough for me).

It’s not 100% settled. I can always go back to the T5s if I end up not liking the LEDs. I already had these LED fixtures in my house, and I will continue to keep my T5’s in case the LEDs break and need repairing one day.

Nope nope nope nope.

I can’t go back to LEDs. I love my T5’s too much. Sorry for the false alarm.

I hope you can enjoy these pics I just took (with the T5)

I did change my bulbs around, and I’m pretty happy with the aesthetics I’m pulling off. :)
