Hello all, recently purchased this coral on sale at Petco for $18, and after a couple of weeks in my tank I noticed this growth on it.

Looks like a mini red volcano! Any ID, help, or advice is appreciated.

Does it send out a slimy tendril that traps dusty looking specs? If so, it’s a vermitid.
