People say birdsnest is an easy coral. Never understood because it always seems to be the first to dip out in some tanks. ;Facepalm
I’d always heard that too. That poor guy there, I cracked half the colony once in the other tan and it hit the sand.
Got a long gig and it stayed in the sand for an embarrassingly long time. Grew so well I gave it to the lfs.

Every thing survived(butthe bubbles algae and aptasia) and my colony of ponape birds nest. :(

Really weird too. It’s been bullet proof in both tanks despite minor chrashes and such.
This is about the fourth or fifth time I’ve grown it out this big , and I have some frags floating around, so. No big deal I guess.
I Kinda wonder if it was like “dude, love ya,ya gotta move on”. Lol.

Salty,
You've been putting in a lot of elbow grease.

Your new re-scape looks really nice. Glad that you kept your BTA.

Looks like your ready for a frag swap, with the clean out :)

Aptasia and bubble algae ? Dude I could give a class in keeping those alive!
No Man, I'm an aptasia killing machine and no bubble algae pops up in my tanks without SERIOUSLY over reacting to it. Just one of those corals for me... any stylo / seriatopora -ish type coral just croaks on me LOL. Looks like you have the tank update well in hand. Looks great so far. Do you think you will see enhanced growth due to the little bit of reflection from the bottom your sure to get?

Yup. T He white on the bottom is already just crazy. These big purple stylo should love it for sure. It’s huge and has been stuck in a corner so it should even out a bit.

Looks great my man!! An ambitious/intimidating project for sure...

Just lost a nice green birdsnest colony upon returning from a trip. Its the only one ive kept alive more than a year and i think @Katrina71 has the lone remaining frag. #notsohardyforme
Thanks! Yea I’d been putting it off. Lots of great growth and happiness but , Id like to try some new things.
