The March NCMAS meeting will be held on Saturday, March 2nd at 12:30PM. We will be having a lecture explaining different ways to acclimate new livestock. After the lecture we will be having our first 50/50 coral auction! Bring your frags and have some fun!

We will be meeting at the Wingate by Wyndham Hotel in Southeast Durham, 5223 Page Road, Durham. It is located right off of I-40 on Page Road.

Doors open at 12:30PM

Meeting officially starts at 1:00PM and ends at 3:30PM

We hope you can come out, meet some friends, and have a great time! This is a great opportunity for some of the non-locals to see our new club and maybe go home with some nice frags!

Everyone that buys coral at the auction will be taking home a free sample of Coral Rx and a bottle of super glue so they can dip and attach their corals when they get home! Grennan will be explaining how to use the Coral Rx in his talk about acclimation.

We'll also be handing out Instant Ocean fish food to anyone that attends!

Here are the rules for the auction

  • Only NCMAS members are allowed to sell corals in the auction. If you aren't a member, you can sign up at the meeting or follow the instructions on our website about becoming a member
  • Members bringing coral will receive 50% of the sale at the end of the auction (the other 50% will go to the club)
  • Members bringing coral must arrive at 12:30PM to get everything checked in. No corals will be accepted after 1PM.
  • All items must be put in store quality bags. Zip-Loc bags must not be used as they will leak and cause a mess.
  • No more than 20 corals can be sold per person
  • You may only bring 2 corals of the similar species (ie. only 2 pulsing xenia frags)
  • All corals must be free of bugs (e.g. red bugs, flat worms...)
  • If you know for sure which corals you are bringing and would like it's photo displayed during the auction (this will usually increase the end price), you can email your list of corals before Feb. 28th to [email protected]. Please include:
    • Your name
    • Name of coral
    • Size of frag (ex. 2" SPS, # of polpys, heads or eyes)
    • Color of frag (ex. green w/ blue tips)
    • Photos of the frag WYSIWYG or Mother Colony (please specify which)
  • NCMAS members can buy coral in the auction for no charge. Non-members will need to pay a $5 fee at the end of the auction if they end up winning anything.

**Items can be paid for with cash or credit card at the end of the auction**

Less than one week to go. This is going to be a great event. There will be corals for everyone. Even the folks who only collect the high end LE stuff will be happy.

Aw I'll have to miss this one, can't get off of work. How often do you have meetings/auctions?

We do monthly meetings. This is our fist auction but we will probably be having more in the future. It's a great way to earn money for the club.

So far we have a bunch of nice frags pre-registered.
