I took the goniapora out and scrubbed them with a soft bristle brush and placed them back in clean water. Then put them back. I don't see them anymore,,,,,, yet.... Watching closely.

How long can they survive out of water
Quite a while unfortunately. I had some on a rock and had it out of water overnight (the nooks and crannies were still wet) after spraying the droids with H2O2, and they still came back.

*There are a lot of different kinds of hydroids and maybe yours aren't as tenacious as mine were, but my experience with them leads me to recommend total removal.

Yep, but a ton of them. Tons of blues, aztecs and maybe 4-5 large electric blues and 3 halloween. Plus time, it was not overnight but just a slow dwindling.
