This was purchased at MACNA last September and I thought based on advertising, these would replace my Orpheks. I got it at show special for $799.99 and needed three. At over $870, I decided to wait for a sale. Theyre never on sale so, its time to sell it at a deal for someone seeking one while will cover over 40 inches of tank. Its a fantastic light at 200 watts which is impressive.
It has patented diffuser technology, that smoothly blends 104 LEDs to create a field of coral-health-optimized light with no hotspots or disco-ball effect. Can be connected to Apex or ran as stand alone without Apex unit.
Price firm at $650 5- thats a savings of $230 !!!! NOT. . . . NOT Taking offers. Shipping and PP fees alone will be $49 furthering my losses

Is this overkill for a reefer 250?
You would have to go onto lower settings however if you upgrade to larger tank in the future, it would be the last light you need

Let me ask you this. I have also have a RS Max S500. I have 2 AI 32s and 1 64. I have a 26 and two 16 on the 250, not thrilled with that setup and I plan to set up a frag tank or 2 this fall. With the Max, I am not crazy about the light bar the tank uses. This was designed before light tech took off, I don't think the height off the water is good. I can jockey my lights around, as I will eventually have to figure out the frag tanks and also I hate the 26, wifi vs. BT, sucks for programing, it doesn't match bluetooth profiles. My max is mixed with a lot of SPS. This is about a month old -

One of the best videos ive seen. Wish they were all in this format. The lights should be about 12" off the water surface, even 14" acceptable.
For bryposis which I cannot see clearly in video but may be similar derbesia. Youre right on roots- as long as any are present- this stuff will come back. Removal is best accomplished by taking the rock out of tank and placing in a container of tank water. Then you will want to pull as much as you can by hand and discard as you did previously. With a dental pick or small crochet needle as pictured below then pull the roots off the rock. YOU MUST GET EVERY ROOT OR IT WILL SIMPLY RETURN !!
After you are done return rock to tank and reduce white light intensity and even hours of white light and add the following cleaners which will help with control. These guys will consume bryopsis but not as fast as bryopsis can grow - They will never keep up.
Pin cushion urchin, Chiton snails, pitho crabs, and larger astrea snails

This procedure is not as bad or time consuming as it seems. Assure phosphate levels do not become elevated which helps feed this algae

How come you aren't using anymore?
Many know me and I run all Orpheks. I entertained this as a possible replacement but at $870 each would need two more. It was purchased more on implulse being at a trade show

says 30" length for SPS and more for mixed and Lps. Measured was 39" of coverage area when it was on tank but will obviously depend on height of lights.
