I purchased the Red Sea Reefer 350. I am setting up my first sump and wanted some comments on the design of the refugium area.

1. Is it big enough?
2. Should protein skimmer be in separate area?
3. I'm using Marine Pure blocks. are cured or live rocks better?

thanks for the help

Welcome to R2R! A 75 will be more then enough for your tank. I can’t open the file on my phone so I can’t give info on your design sadly. I built my own from a 90 which is just a taller 75. I’ll see if I can find my drawings on what I did and share them just for a idea for you.

Ok no measurements on it but here’s what I did. Both the refugium and Skimmer chambers are 16x18, return pump chamber is 9x18, and overflow / filter sock area is 6x18. I have my Tunze 3155 ATO sensor and all dosing tubes in the return pump chamber and the ATO fill tube in the overflow chamber, heaters are in with the skimmer. As you can see in the pic I switched the Skimmer and refugium around to mimic the newer Triton style setup.
Hope any of this helps you.
