New gyre rusted and scratched brand new reefer 450

Hey all. I just purchased a gyre 130 for my brand new (still cycling) reefer 450. The gyre has been in the tank for 3 days, I went to move the gyre today and noticed it had rusted in the tank. I quickly turned it off and removed it from the tank. I found a piece of metal sticking out of the inner magnet, it was a fairly small piece, but managed to scratch the inside of my new tank. The scratch is small but noticeable. I really don't know where to go from here... I left a message with coralvue HQ but thought posting here might help. Input from coralvue would be great. Thank you.
(I posted this on the other major forum as well, whichever you respond to first I'll stick to that thread)

Have you opened a ticket on the coralvue website? That will get you the quickest response.

Sorry I've been out of town for a while. Won't be back till mid May. They asked for some proof of purchase and damage and I haven't been able to get back to them yet. Will update when I do.
