Well, now a new problem maybe? The smaller one seems to be almost bullying the bigger one with eating. He almost blocks him, then eats and then seems to swim to the other one as if to tell him, "now you go". The only problem is, he now seems afraid to try to eat.

I personally wouldn't keep idols together based on my research so I can't help but think that is your basic problem. I cannot be sure though.

OK. Well, I took the smaller one out. The big guy has now started eating again and is devouring mysis soaked in brightwells vitamin C formula. I think I finally found something he really likes, even more then the nori.

Keep the nori it's how you keep weight on those guys!

I still have him in another tank I set up. Not sure where to go from here. Its a catch 22. You want one thats an aggressive eater but not at the expense of a fish thats probably over 10 years old and doesnt deserve to be in captivity. Im debating on keeping the bigger one and hopefully live out the rest of his life as long as possible or donating him to a large public aquarium here in NJ.
