Aloha R2R,
Here 9-10weeks of aquatic.
So im just planning on just fishes like pair of clowns, firefish ect…but no live corals whatsoever.. currently i have dry rocks, that already has diatoms (brown algae) and alittle of green algae.

But all my parameters is doing good, except my phosphate is at 1.0 and my nitrate is at80.. do i need to worry if im not going to have any live coral?

Heres my parameters:

Saltwater master kit

NITRATE 80
Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Ph 7.8

REEF MASTER KIT
PHOSPHATE 1.0
Nitrate 80
Calcium 420
KH 125.3

I don't like nitrates getting past 40-50 for fish only, it does affect the fishes health. 80 nitrates is pretty high. The phosphate is not a factor for fish.

Add a algae scrubber. Great addition for fish tank to chew up nitrates and some phosphates.

Personally I like to keep nitrates below 40 for fish only. Although there are some on this site that state nitrates and nitrites have no effect on fish in salt water. Regardless id still shoot for below 40 just for my own piece of mind. Phosphates in that range would be acceptable.
