I recently purchased the Large, Fiji Cube HOB Refugium, for my 50 gal, AIO AQUARIUM. I'm interested in getting this 1/2 inch Barbed Check Valve, to prevent the Refugium from over flowing my tank, when the pump for the Refugium is off (do I have to turn off the flow pump for the Refugium? ). Is this Check Valve reef safe? If not I'm open to recommendations.

i have always stayed away from anything that has metal in it.. not all stainless steel is what it claims to be...

you could just get a 1/2 check valve (flapper style) at BRS (or similar) and plumb plastic connectors to it.
