Wow nice job Homer! Your tank really is very similar to mine.

I have the same philosophy, paranoid about leaks and want to automate as much as possible.

Seems you've been going round and round as I did with ATO. Like you I wanted to do APEX but heard such bad things about the reliability of the pump. I ultimately decided on a hybrid. I placed 2 apex sensors in my return chamber feeding my FMM module. Then placed an Avast diagphram pump with apex 12v power line plugged into my power bar. Now apex can handle and monitor water level and I have a great reliable pump to feed RO up from the basement.

Seems your using Redseas system with the added wrinkle of auto filling the reservoir directly from RO unit controlled by APEX and solenoid. Thats an ingenious system. However are you at all concerned about reliability of that solenoid? I read some not so great reviews on it and if it fails it would be really bad. I wanted to have 2 containers in my mixing station for RO and Salt. I decided on no reservoir in my sump to save space, and feed my sump with RO from the basement RO tank. Probably yours is a little safer than mine as I have like 35G of RO in my reservoir and you only have 10G, so less risk. However we both rely on APEX sensors to check if sump level is too high and shut off everything...so not sure.

Anyway your moving faster than me, I'd love to pick your brain on some of your setup, particularly your apex board, I just bought a melemine board for this but cant decide how I want to install.

Also did you paint your cabinet black on the inside?

Sorry for the lack of updates, been busy with work and also some issues with the tank, and just figuring things out.

In response to @Risk1994 , I haven't read much about the solenoid being a bad apple, but I agree that it's risk item. I bought the Bubble Magus manual float that should reduce the risk of a stuck open solenoid.

For super redundancy, I have a leak sensor under my tank that talks to my Smartthings home automation system that will automatically turn off the water to my entire home. The device is called Phyn, the added bonus is that it also measures water usage. Although, when I look at my water usage, I don't know if I want to know.

As for my cabinet, it was black from the factory. Let me know what questions you have about your board. Where are you at with your tank progress?

About 2 weeks ago, I added some Chaeto, pods, Dr. Tims Nitrifying bacteria, and 2 clown fish.

I've been testing the water often and had 0 Ammonia and 0 Nitrites, and a small amount of Nitrates. I'm impressed by how well Dr. Tim's worked.

More updates to come soon. I've been busy learning the Apex programming and finally got my DOS AWC setup.
