Trying to decide between the RO algae reactor and the tunze for my 300g tank. Would it be possible to run the RO without the trays to allow more room inside the reactor?

While you can, trays help with harvest
I personally like and use ice cap units. Clear water is good too but just SIGNIFICANTLY raised their prices

I dont have room inside or above my sump for the ice cap. My only real option is a algae reactor. The Tuze doesn't have trays. I was thinking maybe taking the trays out of the Reef octopus so there was more room inside like the Tunze.
