Hi to all. A friend refered me to this forum and after some reading I see it is a great source of information.

This year in December my 125 gallon reef tank will be 20 years old so I will open a thread with info about filtration, other equipment and some history.

I used nartural sea water for about 2 years around 1998. There was a parking close to the shore and with 12 volts bilge pumps we collected two or three 30 gallon buckets. During the two hours that we were there we drank 2 or 3 beers each!!

It was just filtered with a micron pad and after a 15 minutes drive we were changing water!. Amazing what natural sea water can do to your system.

Now I don't have the time and the crazy friends to do that. Also its not easy today to find water that is not polluted close to the shore in Puerto Rico.

welcome to reef2reef! i think i have seen pics of your tank or one of your tanks before. very nice! love the large colonies! we don't get to see many mature reef tanks. i can't wait to hear more about it.
