Where did you see this? @SBB Corals how do you secure a filter sock for this purpose?
Yes talking about that clay binder brown stuff. and i just hang a sock from my bin with salt in it and it dissolves in time( takes a little longer) and then put a filter sock on hose before going into sump. Shane talked about it in a pod cast.

What about using something like this:

You can just get the squeeze bulb to start the syphon.

Just bought this guy.

I have the python which I hook to my sink for easy removal. It’s been getting the water out of my mixing container that’s been a very manual process for a while. Siphon would work till about half way when the container level was lower than the tank. So I’d end up using a bowl to just move over.

I know. I should have done this sooner. It’s fine

That's ironic because I just ordered a similar pump yesterday to use in cleaning the salt mixing bin.

@Thuan you have been using AF Reef salt for a while, correct? What is the mix ratio (cups per gallon) you use for new saltwater?

Thanks
1/2 cup per gallon. I do 5 gallon bucket water change for my 32 with AF salt right now, at the end of it. I have the 5 gallon Homer bucket from home Depot and it needs to be filled slightly more than 5 gallons or you'll be slightly over 1.026. So you could do just under fully packed scoops of 1/2 cup per gallon.

I use the over packed 1/2 cup then give 3 gentle shakes at a 37⁰ angle to lessen the amount then disperse into the water in a clockwise motion every 3rd 1/2 cup added method
