Hello R2R , I am in need of some help with my DT. It seems I picked up a bad hitchhiker recently... (I’m eyeing the new maxima clam >0) I first noticed these very small hermit/snail critters on the glass but not to many ... and then deciddd to really get a good look, and waited till all my lights were off. I wanted to see what’s been going on in the tank... sure enough with my iPhone flashlight I see all these tiny white snails on the base of my torch and then all over the base of the coral rocks, I’m talking like 100’s everywhere .. so now I’m thinking I definitely have a infestation of some kind and I would like some help on how to remedy it. Thanks for reading

Any and all advice is good. How to eradicate? Or reef safe ways to get rid because I have lots of coral

I used flash on my iPhone so I know the pictures are bad, but hoping you can still see what I’m talking about .. also bonus picture I think I have tube looking bristle worms?

The shape does kinda look like pyramidellid snails, and they are predators of tridacna, so could be, but the pictures aren't good enough to get a definite answer.

Pyramidals dont come out like that...they are hard to spot and stay hidden on thier food source.

Ok so I can confirm they are

Pyramidellidae snails .. definitely not good guys at all....soooo now how can I remedy this situation ??

I assume they came on my clam but I scrubbed it clean , possibly missed the eggs or something .. anyways they are everywhere now, and in corals.

advice ?

Here is an article written by OrionN on how he deals with them. It does seem odd they are not all over the clam and are climbing your glass so maybe make sure that is what you have.

Ohhhh man thanks for the info, they are so small it’s hard to tell, but I have none on my clam , and yes all of the glass and base of rocks. This is my first time seeing them, they look like baby cerith snails. I’ll get some more picture tonight with the nikon, in the meantime I’ll be reading and trying to identify . Thanks again

With them being everywhere I highly doubt they're pyramidals...reefer reboot might have your answer there.
