I picked this colony up from a buddy here in town a few months ago. When I got it, it was a mustard brown/yellow color, now it's deloping into a "forest green" color where the light hits the hardest (running Radium 400W MH). the polyps are neon green similar to a bonsai but smaller. Any idea what the name of this guy is? Probably my favorite piece since it's a mystery to me. More so interested if anyone knows the common name.

hard to say because the majority of the sps that brown out always turn green first then change into there true colors.... i love pieces like that i call them my Christmas presents..1smile1
with that being said i have a wild colony that looks similar but when i bought it the piece was bright yellow with purple tips...it morphed into green with purple tips and bright yellow polyps...

"Christmas presents" That's pretty funny. That's exactly what I've said about this guy. Pretty excited to see what he has to offer!

My guess would be A. nana or A. valida. Once it shows a consistent growth form, it'll be easier to ID.

Hmmm. Looked at a few pictures of the nana and it does resemble it. I'll keep this in mind. I'm leaning toward it being the nana

Thanks!

It looks very similar to my A. Nana so I would agree with that too.
