Obviously they are going to be over the brace. I’m just showing with 4 on a 180, there is little to no shadowing, this a remedy.

What you do with your tank is your business.
Not OBVIOUSLY, since you could have 1 each in bays 1 and 3 placed parallel to the front, and 2 in bay 2 turned perpendicular. Which is why i asked how you had them arrranged

But ok, im sorry im too stupid to figure it out. I just figured maybe there was an easy way to position them such that im not pumping 80 watts and 400 par into a plastic brace and being ok with the wastage.

But yeah, you do you

Thanks Dana.

Thats a really useful comment. I appreciate it.

I suspect im going to have to raise my light rail with a concomittant reduction in par unless I up my percentages.

Thanks
In a photo of the test tank, the shadow appears quite pronounced, but is a non-issue just a few inches before the brace. I was surprised.

Turns out, equal spacing isn’t the most efficient... info thanks to our friends at brs

regardless- I’ve decided to make my version 1 frame adjustable with the lights free sliding, so I can adjust to taste. Then, once I’ve done par and visual checks, mark position and lock them in
