SCIENTIFIC NAME - Plotosus lineatus

COMMON NAME - Striped Eel Catfish (Coral Catfish)

SIZE - 12.6" ( 32 cm)

MIN. AQUARIUM SIZE - 75 US Gal. (284 L)

FOODS AND FEEDING - Varied diet, fresh and frozen marine fare, live, frozen, flake. Feed min. 2 times a day

REEF COMPATIBILITY - will eat ornamental shrimps and fishes

CAPTIVE CARE – This species is a bottom feeder and a good scavenger. A school of juveniles can be kept, and groups are preferred to keeping singly. This species is subject to parasitic infestation, but exercise caution if using copper based medications or organophosphates. This species can also be treated with freshwater dips. Their adult appetite is as big as their size, creating a very heavy load on the filtration system and only suitable for large tanks as adults. Do not handle this species and beware as these fish are venomous. Provide an open sandy bottom and base rock or decor to provide concealment.
