i recently purchased two new fish for my reef tank from a very reputable FS which i have always purchased my fish from. i bought a lieutenant tang and a swallowtail angel, after the first night i noticed the angel is swimming a little sideways and has some tail damage. obviously something was not playing nice. just curious if there are any corals or reef critters that might be causing this harm?
the tank is a 90 gal and well established.

Here are a couple photos
thanks

Just the lieutenant tang, a mandarin goby, and a tailspot Blenny. The rest is all corals and the basics pistol shrimp, cleaner shrimp, blood shrimp. And three star fish.

It could of possibly happened at your LFS. It could possibly be fin rot. That happened to my yellow tang on his dorsal fin.

Looks to be the beginnings of fit rot (bacterial infection). The swimming sideways could be a swim bladder issue, as Swallowtails are a open water/deepwater species. Do you have a QT?

I agree with the fin rot. Qt is preferred if you have one.
