I have a thick and very spongy bacteria growing in my fuge, any ideas on how to get rid of it? More flow? It crackles when you squeeze it, and doesn’t smell like cyano. It only grows in the fuge section, the skimmer and return areas are free of it. I think it is fed by light, as it only grows on the upper surfaces that get direct light. It’s maybe 1/2 inch thick. I keep removing it but grows back in a couple days. I don’t think it’s hurting much other than choking the hair algae in there. Display has almost no algae, and no cyano issues. It’s not a big deal, just an annoyance, after all nutrient export is nutrient export.
Not carbon dosing. Skimmer, phosguard, hair algae fuge, filter socks.
