Trying to figure out if this is a sponge or what. And if so, what kind?

Was cleaning my sump out and found a whole ton of these. Even on the inside of my protein skimmer. Not sure what they are though. I’m thinking it’s some sort of sponge, but I’m not too sure

I don't know the specific kind but they are harmless. If you don't like them you can try exposing them to H2O2.

I agree with sponges, and I don't know what kind either (sponge ID isn't always straightforward, especially when the sponges are still relatively small/young).
