OK, I wanted to update everyone on our upcoming frag swap, especially with vendor count and new raffle prize info.
The date is August 20th from 12PM to 4PM, and the place is the Fairfield Marriott Inn & Suites, which is one mile off of I-85 at Exit 11 (Mitlyene). We’ll have signs up, but you can see the hotel from I-85 and it is really easy to find.
Admission is free, of course, and as of now we have 8 confirmed vendors (some new faces in the mix, which will be great for everyone) and a few more possibly attending. While the site is the same as last year, we will also have the meeting room across the hall, so we will be able to spread out and will have plenty of space.
The raffle is shaping up nicely, as we have some great prizes:
• a Vortec MP40WES 1smile1;
• a retrofit LED fixture;
• a Hamilton MH pendant;
• a Bulk Reef Supply bio-pellet reactor and bio-pellets;
• 4 sets of 4 packages of different varieties of Rod’s Food;
• Salifert Alkalinity and Calcium test kits;
• A 200G box of Reef Crystals salt;
• Gift cards from sponsors, table vendors and local vendors;
• Livestock being donated by some of the vendors; and
• more to be announced.
Raffle tickets are $1 each or 15 for $10.
If you aren’t familiar with a frag swap, it’s a great opportunity to beef up your display, try a new species or variety of coral, or even help to populate a new tank. Folks of all levels of expertise will be there to talk with and share the hobby and their experiences. If you can make it, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. You’ll go home with some cool corals and maybe even a great prize from the raffle.
If anyone has any questions, please don't hesitate to ask here or send me a PM. Hope to see you there!
