Hi All, past couple of weeks, ive been having coral RTN or totally peel and or bleach. Including some branching montipora, Sour apple bird nest, even my huge Hollywood stunner has some bald spots.
Today as I sat on my steel refugium stand doing maintenance I put my hand in water and got zapped, it didnt happen when i was standing on my rubber shoes.Got my multy meter and measured close to 30 Volts.

Could this be killing my corals. For a huge surprise it ended up being my RODI unit, somehow its transfering current throught the Reserivoir to my Tank, I was truly amazed that the last thig I tought that could energize my tank would be my RODI, it has a booster pump and some electrical switches.

Could the voltage going thought the water be the reason its consuming tons of DI( This is a question for Randy)

I also had a Case of HLLE Lateral line erosion recently.

I'm not sure, but if there was a current path, not just voltage, that could be an issue.

If the RO/DI dripped into the tank water, that should break any circuit, and prevent the voltage in the tank.

This is how my corals are looking , anyone please help. Source of voltage on the water has been corrected, still I'm uncertain if this was the cause for corals to turn with this brown algae like growth , and death or peeking on some. Looks bacterial I guess , maybe brown jelly disease?

Chalices have been dying like this for a really long time , I even believe it's blue leg hemorrhage crabs killing them.

If you turn down the blue lights, and turn up the white lights, then set your white balance on your phone to "cloudy" you will be able to take better pictures.
