Hi
I thought my harlequin shrimp was dead, Its been months since ive seen him and I was no longer feeding him because when I would put in a starfish in he would not come out.
SO anyway saw him tonight. I need to start feeding him again I did have a 40 gallon breeder setup with chocolate stars for him but I turned that into a QT tank.
I was going to go out to the pet store tomorrow and get some more but I don't want to wait another month with them in QT before I feed him.
Is there a way or does anyone do a dip or ? For the stars before I feed him one ?
thanks

I don't bother. Velvet/ich doesn't attach to stars or get stuck in them like snail shells.

If its something you're really worried about, you can house them separate and just cut legs off.

DO YOU USE A PAR METER WHEN PLACING NEW CORAL IN YOUR TANK?

  • Yes! I think it's important for the longterm health/growth of my coral.

  • Yes, but I don't find that it is necessary all the time.

  • No. I don't measure PAR and my corals are still healthy/growing.
