Weird growth on Banghii Cardinal gill

Any Idea what this growth could be? It is clear and with white dots in it soft to the touch. I tried to dislodge but was not able too. Any help is appreciated.

Is it coming out from underneath the operculum? This species is prone to goiter which enlarges the thyroid so much that it pushes out from under the gill.

How long has this been visible?

If it is growing on the surface of the operculum it is something else, probably bacterial.

First noticed I think 3 days ago. Yes coming from underneath. I tried a freshwater dip but he won’t even swim in freshwater just sinks lol.

I don't see anything that would suggest a FW dip would help (it doesn't look like a parasite).

In looking at it again, it seems a bit too high up on the gill arch to be goiter. Then, the fact fact that you've only seen it for a few days doesn't sound like goiter (that develops more slowly). It may be a bacterial disease - are you able to move it to a treatment tank?

I'd have to set it up but yes he is in my sump now. What would you suggest treating with?

Completely a guess, since we don't have actual confirmation of what the issue is, but a broad spectrum, gram negative antibiotic such as Maracyn 2, Kanaplex or Neoplex would be the next step I think.
