What are the black areas and the funnel like substance growing near it. What’s wrong with my tank?
What looks good?

Welcome! What are the test parameters of your water? One coral (torch or hammer, hard to tell) looks in really bad shape and the algae is taking over your tank.

Welcome to R2R!! Need to know a little more info on your tank. As stated above, water parameters to start. How long has the tank been running, do you use ro/di water, type of lighting? As stated, the euphyllia looks to be in big trouble and you definitely have an algae issue. Looks like you may have some macro algae which can be a good thing depending on what your goals with the tank are.

Is it just the hair algae taking over?

I can’t get rid of the stuff. I pull it out by hand. The tank has been going for over a year. Haven’t had water tested in a while cause it’s not a new tank. I have some black stuff starting to grow on live rock.
Fish doing well. My coral tha looks real bad has been moved several times and never is happy.
I’m a rook.

What are your parameters? Are you using RoDi? What type of filtration are you using?

Mexican turbo snails are really good for hair algae and they keep my tank spotless! Your torch or hammer is a goner it looks like there’s no skin in the outside of the exoskeleton and it is very shrunk up :/

Does look like hair algae. Would be a good idea to test nitrate and phosphate. These nutrients could be very elevated and driving your algae problem. Since you have a stony coral you should test alkalinity and calcium as well. These levels need to be proper for stony corals to thrive.

Start by testing your water. If you are going to the LFS for snails, bring water to test. You don't know where you are going until you know where you have been.

You could probably feed half that. If you don't have starfish the harlequin starved to death. Which probably caused your nutrient spike.

When you go to the LFS to get snails and water testing, get some mysis shrimp. Quite a bit more nutrition compared to the brine shrimp.

Pe mysis and rods food are great. Your water looks clear. I like that. Your rock dosent look too bad. Some wcs. Turkey baster. Some snails. The hair algae will go away and the macros will take over. Could go the other way. Dont let it.
You can go with an urchin too if you have to. When its done cleaning you can sell it.
Get a good hang on skimmer if you can. I like how your tank isnt all blue and neon glow. Lol.
