New to aquarium life, starting my corals and notice this on my hammer coral. Can anyone tell me what it is and if it’s harmful to my coral? It is red in color and branches out. Thank you.

That’s what I thought as well.very blurry to tell accurately what it is. to my untrained eye, it seems like a very small kenya tree branch that somehow got stuck on your hammer. does it move/sway with the water flow? has it increase din size? does it change(get smaller) when the lights are off? is it soft/hard?
Looks like a benthic foraminiferans to me (possibly Miniacina miniacea or a branching morphotype of Homotrema rubrum to me) - harmless filter feeders.Agree, too blurry. Let's see if @ISpeakForTheSeas has an opinion.

Edit: Probably M. miniacea.
It does not move or close with current or light changescould also be a sponge, but the shade of color makes me second guess that
Assuming it feels solid/hard, I'd suggest doing a Google images search for Miniacina minaceae and seeing if that's a match. It does not move or close with current or light changes
