I've got a 26 gal. Red sea peninsula I'm going to be setting up. Going from a reefer 625 xxl to that. I'm planning on no coral only a few nano fish and all nems. Looking forward to the easier maintenance. I got a couple pieces of tropic Eden rock from premium aquatics. It's nice stuff and comes in nice shapes. That would be my suggestion. One nice piece is all you would need.

I've got a 15 gallon stuffed! I like it because in the unfortunate event something does happen. I don't need massive amounts of extra equipment. A separate 10 gallon just in case of emergency. Water changes are small. I can do big water changes easy.

Biggest thing for me is really easy water changes, which also reduces costs for various additives and adjusting chemicals. If the chemistry gets out of whack, I just do a sooner water change (I use natural seawater).

other things
- quicker to clean the glass
- easier to catch fish because there's nowhere to run (coral and rocks are easy to remove)
- cheaper to run (electricity etc)
- required lights, heaters, pumps, etc are smaller and cheaper to buy

Mine is like zero maintenance and being only 1.1 gallon, if I have a parameter go out of whack I could always steal a gallon from my 75g reef and correct the issue in minutes

Oh and 2 scarlet hermits are nobodies in my 75g. Don’t even think twice about them. But in here, they are like the stars of the tank and I’m always looking for them and watching them. You can appreciate small details more in a small tank
