I received this tank from a friend for free and he in turn got it from a yard sale so he didn't know the make and model of the tank either. It is a 35g bow front tank ( so he told me ) measurements are : 23 1/2 '' wide 11 3/4 '' deep 17 3/8'' tall and is made of glass with four chambers in the back.
Also I am looking for a BIG protein skimmer in the second chamber, its measurements are : 7 1/8'' wide x 5 1/2'' deep x 17 1/4'' tall. I'm not sure what kind of protein skimmer I need for this? recirculating? I can spend as much is needed on the nicest one as I plan on ( hopefully) having a school of chromis.
The tank is setup like this as far :
2 months old
4'' deep sand bed
20 pounds of live rock ( Going to add more with corals attached to rocks )
1st chamber overflow: 2 layers of poly filter, bio balls, purigen, carbon. In that order
2nd chamber : Nothing ( adding protein skimmer)
3rd chamber : refugium with pods and 3 pounds of live rock and 4'' of sand. Also a old dirty poly filter for the pods to live in < is that a bad idea?
4th chamber: pump ( maybe later a carbon reactor?)
Livestock:
1 black and white clown
1 blue chromis
1 firefishy
1 tiger pistol shrimpe
some pollops and green grass coral idk what its really called
5 astrea snails
sand sifting sea star
various brittle sea stars that hitch hiked
2 red hermits
some bristle worms
lots of pods
