Found this crossing a rock. Kinds looks like part of a starfish and moves like one too. Trying to figure out what this is and determine if it needs to be plucked out of a nano reef.

Asterina starfish, some say they are good, some say they are bad.

I like them, there is probably 50 or so in my tank.

I will answer with my own quote from neighbouring thread:
Judging from response here and my lifetime experience, I would say:
"One man pest is another man beneficial helper"
The question is: Which man are you?

UPDATE QUESTION, I have spent hours reading and searching but cannot figure out what these little guys are. They don't seem to bother the corals and don't retract when touched. They are not clear like spionids and they are not bristle worms. Any ideas on what I am missing? They are similar to size and color of baby brittle starfish arms but I don't think that is what they are. They are banded, dark and light grey. Some poke out of rocks and others are underneath frag plugs but none are growing in or through any actual corals.

Freshwater filter only or is it? Have you ever used an HOB filter on a saltwater tank?
