it's like brown hairy algae. What will eat this?

Are you Carbon Dosing. (aka Vodka Dosing.) Looks like the slimy bacterial bloom that comes with the high dosings.

That looks like a bacteria or fungus of some sort. I don't think anything will eat it.

There is nothing that will eat that. You need to figure what the underlying issue is and trouble shoot from there. Need Phos and Nitrate levels, types of filtration, water source. Looks like a relatively new set up. I would blow it off all surfaces, turn off pumps, let it settle and siphon out and clean mechanical filtration. What type of rock did you use to cycle the tank and how did you cycle it?
