asterina starfish. They come in all shapes and sizes. Common hitchhiker. Generally not bad but can populate out of control if not monitored.Never seen this befor on the side of my coral looks like part of a starfish or something I can’t tel has anyone ever seen this
Not to big, maybe 2" at the most. Thats the biggest I've seen in person. If you see hugging a zoa or paly polyp, remove it asap. Some we have are tearing up the utter chaos palys.Thanks a tone will it get bigger if so how big
How to remove
It looks to be eating the algae. Tweezers make it easy to remove them.Is it eating this coral in the photo
I can’t believe it even eats coralineThey propagate by division. Pretty common in live rock and generally algae eaters. The ones I have seem to like grazing on Purple Coralline.
