Thanks everyone and I appreciate all the links! It came as a freebie with some gulf live rock I just picked up and I wanted to be sure I wouldn't regret putting it in the tank.

its a filter feeder so its harmless. You just rarely see them as they are flat and hide.

You'll see two 'fans' pop out from infront of it.

no; it’s a porcelain crab…
i hastily looked at the picture,
but if you look close,
you can see the purple banding…
and the claws match too.

I agree it is a porcelain, just trying to nail down which one.
