Definatly bryopsis as to getting rid of it thats a whole difrent problem then your normal type algie as almost nothing will eat it hand removal does almost nothing as you cant get the roots there are a few medication type treatments that might work but also might kill any coral you have check out my build thread to get an idea of what your dealing with

Would Vibrant have any effect on it?

Your best bet honestly is to remove it by hand around the coral and let the coral spread over time shadding the roots of it and eventually killing it off things that eat it are only a stop measure and even then the things that might eat it are really hit or miss

No. Only Flux Rx will do.

As long as you don't have any prized acropora, this is a "must do" treatment. With acropora, there is (anecdotally) a 1:20 chance the acros will be taken out.

If you want to read up on a couple hundred use cases, look up "My battle with Bryopsis using fluconazole" here on R2R. This is a slam dunk.

There are reports of of working fluconazole type product do somtimes work but they also can kill coral and most of the time it will come back at a later date if the treatment works at all theres alot out there about these treatments working not working and killing coral I personally use the trim around the coral by hand and then just let it grow in other places so it out compeats itself and stays mostly in the areas without coral while some things I have eat it but not fast enoff as you can see its almkst everwhere in my tank but my coral is also thriving and I get 3 to 6 new zoa heads every 2 weeks gorgonian has over doubled etc

It's funny you mention that, I believe SaltwaterAquariums.com were the ones who recently featured a tank where the owner was able to contain it to one small rock, and through regular trimming has managed to keep it there and only there.

This is not a slam dunk treatment there are alot of people who it didn't do anything but kill coral it can kill all types of coral not just acro it'll kill sps lps softy gorgonians etc and as said before there are also reports of vibrant work just as well for people

I gave up on the treatments as it just comes right back and instead I'm alowing it to grow where I want it to be thus keeping it away from where I dont want it eventually top half of tank will be coral while bottom half is bryopisis I give the desired areas a trim with sizors ever few weeks to shorten it remove with filter sock and thats it here are some close ups
