I never had a best coral. been running fowlr for a couple of years and my new tank is only a month old so no corals for at least 6 months and only then if water quality permits.

Mini Potato Chip Pavona. Nearly immortal and survived my early attempts at reefkeeping. The original colony started off as a 1/4” frag. I got it to encrust over a conch shell and it grew the size of a baseball. I fragged a few pieces off before selling the colony and you can see the progression from my bowfront tank after a year of growth (bottom left foreground + 1 fragged piece) to my column and now on top of the first rock in my current tank.

Today is Monday and we need it as easy as possible today. Well i do at least! So let's make it easy and fun by talking about the BEST coral we have ever owned! Oh and we'll need a photo if you have one! :) Deal?

What is the BEST coral you've ever owned and do you still have it?

These three have been my best I think. Can you spot the coral in the first photo that I'm talking about?

when I return to reefkeeping in 2017, I saw the largest Carnation Coral I thought I will ever see and unfortunately will never see again that large. 18 in tall. That's huge

Got this guy a year and half ago for free. It was bad off probably a day or so away from full on BJD. Now it’s 10-12 heads and the size of a volley ball. I could watch it all day. I am a proud that I saved it. It is my favorite ATM but my stick are starting to color and get big so we will see. Second place to my scoly just cause it’s small plate size and eats like a pig and is super fun to feed.

Not sure I can pick one. The first is a awesome lobo (I think). Still have this one. Sadly the others are gone. The second is a mushroom that was about 10" across. The last is an acanthophyllia I had at the same time (mid 90's). Anyone remember the elegance corals from that time? Why are those not available any more?
