When should I add a cleanup crew? hermits/snails. I just got over the ugly stage and sand looks back to normal. I didn’t have any clean up crew in there except for 2 skunk cleaners.

Go ahead and add them. It doesn't take long for algae to grow. Or better yet, start them in a QT

The crabs will eat anything you give them. If there is absolutely 0 algae, then maybe wait on the snails. Pellets work well for crabs.
