Worm ID

I’m familiar with the typical worms in the sand but this one is strange and haven’t come across it. Half is in the sand and half is waving in the water. Any ideas?

It definitely could be!

If you look at the end that’s embedded to the sand it looks like a worm though unless the Trochus snails embed the string into the sand.

Has the entire "worm" moved at all? If not, I'm voting snail eggs.

Has not in the 2 hours I’ve noticed it. The end an inch in the sand is pretty clear to be worm like though. Do snails produce a strong like substance to attach their eggs to?

Well I guess I’m gonna be a snail dad!

I have a Mel wrasse that will probably pick them off. Any advice on yielding the most possible?

These almost never survive. But snails breeding is a sign of a healthy tank...

I was hoping to gain more trochus this way. I limited the amount of trochus I got because I’ve read they reproduce very easily.

Some species do but others don't. I guess just wait and see if you end up with babies!

Ok looked at pics and it resembles cerith snail eggs which I have a bunch of too. Cool free snails! Or food lol.
