If I was looking for the clam species that stays the smallest, is a crocea my best bet? I think I’ve read they max out around 6”, but figured I’d ask the experts :)

Yes, Crocea would be your best choice.

Freshwater filter only or is it? Have you ever used an HOB filter on a saltwater tank?
