Hey guys. Just here to report about this yellow stripe forming in one of my montipora colonies.
Have you guys seen anything like it before?
Unlike green fluorescent protein infections - that by the way also seem to naturally occur in my aquarium - this one seems to be yellow/gold in color.

I cut off a frag to see if it would propagate. I'm looking forward to see how it turns out :)

Note: That's not a regular monti cap either. It's got dark green polyps.
I see dark blue, but I don't want this thread to go viral like the "What color is this Dress" thread did awhile back.

I hope the frag grows up with growth in the stripe too!

The blue bit on the right is a dead piece where it got stung. (blue light photo)

Sorry for the confusion.

I'll take some more photos :)

Montipora sunset
Orange with green polyps, encrusting.
Close, but not quite! :D
I received it years ago as "Cherry Tree" Montipora. It's very different from the sunset monti.
I can also take a photo comparing the two.

But guys this is about the yellow stripe! :D
Has nobody got any idea what it is?? Or seen it before?

Super cool! I think the grafted monti setosas I’ve seen have yellow in them, so it certainly seems possible. Here’s hoping it carries over into the frag!

I can not say I've seen the striping before.
Hope it looks good when it grows out.

Exactly what I was thinking of too! However, I have never seen that yellow grafted Setosa in person so I couldn't tell you if it's the same color.

Time will tell how it's going to look! I wouldn't mind a yellow encrusting/plating monti lol
