great tip - wow 5 tanks! I can barely manage the 1 that i have
I found out that the original 150g was soon stocked with both fish and then coral. Then, I decided our finished basement was rather bare looking and the 150g was getting crowded ... so we NEEDED a bigger tank. We upgraded to a 220g with less fish, and I was able to totally take my time getting it set up. I used base rock and only transferred coral from the 150g after it was well established and had no signs of ill health. My 150g was plagued with flat-worms, bubble-algae, some other matting type of nuisance algae and of course Aiptasia. Downstairs tank has or ever has had any of these issues. Nowadays, the 150g only has a tiny issue with Aiptasia that the shrimp are working on. 1 of the 5 tanks we soon bought after the 150g was a 32 BioCube we use to quarantine EVERYTHING. Not going through all of that again! lol

You'll find very welcoming people here on R2R. If you have questions down the road, you can either ask directly and gain their knowledge ... or be stubborn like me and learn through trial and error. But I'd advise you play it safe and POST QUESTIONS. It will save lives (of coral .. and in my case fish) and save your money.
