i struggle to get real thin ledges, i want like either thin flat wide ones, or even thin branches and i cant seem to get the rock to break like i want. do you know if there is concrete mixes that will let you make your own rocks? like pre made mixes i can just buy? i saw the marco 400 concrete but thats just for gluing rocks together not creating entire structures.
I found the shelf rock helped with the couple thin edges that I had I think the key is smashing up the rocks and small enough pieces where you can put it all back together in a way that makes sense. I did break it apart a couple of times because I didn’t like it. did the BRS super glue tack weld then motor together !i struggle to get real thin ledges, i want like either thin flat wide ones, or even thin branches and i cant seem to get the rock to break like i want. do you know if there is concrete mixes that will let you make your own rocks? like pre made mixes i can just buy? i saw the marco 400 concrete but thats just for gluing rocks together not creating entire structures.
Yeah it looks really cool! Those branches@TOMACONDA I really like yours
Building a scape that I like has always been one of my biggest challenges. My waterbox 330.7 is my latest attempt. My main goal was to have room for the fish to swim through and all the way around the rock so I seem to have at least accomplished that. They are more actively swimming than they were on the 180g they came from.
those branches that BYU used above could be a cool addition to help you accomplish some of that negative scape and you can do it while it’s wet@TOMACONDA I really like yours

Love it ! That’s the other part in a few years won’t see most of it anywayOld school. Wall o’ rocks. 300+ pounds of live rock hidden under there.
that is beautifulHere's my aquascape on my 180. In the near future, I'll be adding an arch from behind the right island that connects to right side of the center island
get a green moray eelGreat looking setups everyone! The boomies and minimal rockwork is the way to go. These sorts of setups look great with stags growing out to great heights. My fish also appreciate the extra room to swim. Oh, and flow is MUCH easier to handle and deal with when you have minimal obstructions.
Here is my 3.5 month old 72*36*22 Rimless Reef

What would happen if you dropped a green moray eel in there lolOld school. Wall o’ rocks. 300+ pounds of live rock hidden under there.
We’ll never know. What would happen if you dropped a green moray eel in there lol
If done right, yes.Love it ! That’s the other part in a few years won’t see most of it anyway
I think mixing the branches with the rock looks odd. All branch or all rock. I did a mix once and it was a flop. But it very well could be my lack of creativitythose branches that BYU used above could be a cool addition to help you accomplish some of that negative scape and you can do it while it’s wet
Love this scape.. tall on one side and down to the sand on the other with a nice natural look.. I am planning something like this but with a sand bar in the middle .. if it turns out looking ok and makes good use of my LR.. we will see.Heres my newly setup 330g. 84"x30"x30"
Yes I did the same thing broke min up into sections. I like the neg space created ! Great jobMy Innovative Marine EXT 170 will arrive any day now. Planning out my aqua scape. Using real reef rocks and planning on cementing them in three different sections. So they are not too big to get into the tank and not too heavy. I cut some cardboard and created some quadrants with tap to help me keep things even. Looking for some feedback on these.
