Well I said that I was not going to do it but it worked out. I had posted previously on how large my FT was but still only had 2 eyes. Well I fragged it a couple of weeks ago and it has new eyes popping up. :)

Awesome! Good luck.

My flame thrower isnt as big as yours but also has only two eyes. I wonder if I get the saw out if that will cause more eyes to pop out!

As the origina poster said, please lets not ask questions on the pricing of the frags,if you wish to,please take that into a PM conversation.

Thanks

Thanks folks. Please no questions about the frags here. That was not my intent and I do not want the thread closed. TY. :)

Nice! Do the frags have an eye? Can the coral grow if it doesn't have an eye?

Might be a silly question, just didn't think I saw an eye on one of the frags and that had never occurred to me before.

Thank you!

Yes. I cut the frags with no eyes. One frag has 3 and the other has 2 forming. It was the quickest healing chalice I have ever cut. :)

Nice, I was wondering if I cut one of my Bazooka Joe chalices in a portion without eyes will it form new ones. It's weird because I have another BJ that is 1/3 smaller with over 20 eyes and my larger colony is 3.5-4" in diameter with only 8 eyes. I won't be so scared to do it now, since you do it with your FT:) The Flame Thrower is on my list of chalices that I eventually need..

I have plenty of chalices with no eyes lol... Some like the rising sun have eyes the size of a nickel so if you were to wait for a eye to form to frag it you would be waiting for ever!!!! Anyways back on topic nice piece man and one of the biggest I have seen yet!!!!1smile1

Interesting experiment, I may have to try it. I have a red chalice that is about 4 inches across and only has two eyes, rather annoying, may have to try this!

Wow. I thought that most chalices were thought to need an eye in the frag for it to survive. It's good to know that may not be the case for all chalices! I wonder what other chalices don't need to have an eye cut out for the frag to survive?

Great job on the frags. I figured you would end up cutting it up at some point, but still that is my favorite piece in your tank. Need to come up with an excuse to stop by again soon and get you over to see my new setup when the lights finally get here.
