here is a picture of my 2.5 month old aquarium. I built the cabinet out of solid Honduran mahogany and used fiddle back maple for the fronts. I went with black granite to match the sub straight. all door and drawers are functional. the tank is a 75 bowl front purchased at WWC, I have had tanks in the past. this is going to be my first real attempt to grow a reef.

Nice scape!
Can't wait to see some corals
me too. What I am looking for is some more stick rock such as the tonga stick rock. but then again by adding hard corals in the future is can get that stick rock effect. this is going to be exciting putting this one together. I used to move all over the country and now I am in central Florida doing my own thing so I can take my time putting this tank together.

Your stand is incredible. I like Tongan branch rock as well, unless you get it on-line it can be hard to come by.

From what I am reading it is prohibited now to sell the Tongan rock. My thoughts are get the right things in place and my parameters in check and grow my own.

That is the prettiest tank stand I've ever seen!
thank you, about 40 hours to mill it out, build it and oil varnish the stand. The Center door are dedicated to the aquarium needs and the drawers are file drawers and two what ever drawers in the center of the file drawers. The stand was built to match my desk, I have always wanted a nice office to work out of so I built one. again thank you for the complement.

It's not that you can't sell it, it just cannot be collected any longer

ahh that makes since. The branch rock I have now is the life rock, that is also difficult to find too. I figure some nice frags and a couple of years on the top part of the rock I can have a nice effect. I will post more picture as I go.

Harmless filter feeders. Usually die out once the tank matures.
good to know, thank you. I switched over to RO/DI water for top off and water changes 10 days ago and the brown algae is going away and just letting the green dissipate, and new things are showing up.

Question of the day; is my Zoa to high in the tank? In the two pictures posted the large part of the Zoa is about 12" from the light. A small part of the Zoa broke off and is on the bottom, in less light and look happier.

Just keep an eye on the zoas. They'll tell you where they're happy. They'll stay closed if they're irritated by something, like too much like. If you see them stretching for the light, that means they need more. Good luck!
