Does the 2 part dosing need to be done together? (Calcium and Alk)
If my Alk is fine but Calcium is low, i can just does the calcium right?
Directions say to do both in equal parts...

I changed salts and have been noticing drops in Alk and Calcium. I am not entirely sure it is the salt doing it. It may have been the GFO running, but that was always running even before the salt change.
Either way I stopped the GFO completely and dosed some Calcium only. My Alk was good and didnt need.
BTW i lost 3 large Maximas... thats how i noticed stuff was off... 5-7inches each.

Yes, it is OK to make occasional corrections with only one part.

But the calcium isn't being depleted if the alkalinity is not going down. The low calcium (if real) would be from the salt mix (unless you are adding alkalinity). :)

What are the current values and what salt mix are you using?

Figuring out the why: Has your primary reason(s) for keeping a saltwater aquarium changed over time?
