OK since there are NO decent fish stores in Spokane, I had to sneak into one when I was in Portland for work. I smuggled home a VERY nice collection of goodies. They had really good quality healthy SPS frags, and the fish I have been looking for (Sorry Jason) also had one of my favorite nems I have been trying to justify buying for a long time. I finally broke down and got out my credit card.
Labouti Wrasse
Flame Wrasse pair
Flame Tip Nem
5 SPS frags- some that remind me of a few high end RR pieces
a crazy looking acro- reminds me of the Walt Disney Tenuis so I had to give it a try...

I went out and bought a cooler because the livestock was too precious to risk the cardboard box from freezing or getting

Look how bright the flame tip is compared to my rainbow red nem that I thought was really bright....

So I was recently in Florida and went looking at some salt shops. I didn't buy anything, but when I'm out traveling again, I might have to steal that idea for the cooler. I never thought of doing something like that. Everything travelled well?

Worked perfectly fine! And i returned the cooler back to the local target. I had initially brought 3 empty carry on silicone squeeze tubes and a thermal lunch bag to bring 3 frags on the plane, i ended up with quite a bit more though so i had to improvise

Got the tank in!

Very hard to get into the house, it just barely fit the door frame. We damage the wood floor because we forgot to move the masonite once we wheeled it into the house.

Update on the progress-
I made a screen top for the tank since I was getting a couple visitors I did not want inside the tank

Finished up plumbing inside the house (modified Herbie)

Started laying out rockwork and drilled the live rock

Built my new canopy- I put in some z clips on the front so now my front panel is removeable!! I did not like having to take the canopy off, slide it over, or having to lean over the height of the canopy on my old setup. This works MUCH better, and the canopy is lighter to move around.

I ghetto-rigged my sander to the vacuum to make a dustless sander to keep the wife happy! She did not want sawdust all over the garage. It worked amazingly

But little did she know the circular saw didnt have a dust port so keeping the garage sawdust free was an epic fail!!

So I met with Jerry from Precision Plastics in Spokane last week and showed him some crude doodle of the sump I wanted.

Spent all weekend plumbing it up and getting all my wiring, insulation, etc into it. Filled it up and no leaks so far!- everything is running great, it is SUPER quiet.

Got some frags in from Gonzos corals, they are good sized, colorful and opened right up! The other frags I got this month from Reefnation 90% RTN'ed within the first 24 hrs :( . I dont know why, I assume their Alk or someother factor was way off compared to mine.

Beautiful photos! I really love the look of this tank and cabinet. Very sleek and well done! I enjoyed the photos of the cat in the tank. My cat insists on doing that every time I've set up a new tank as well. She also fell in once when it was full of water, so the screen lid was definitely a must! Cats are too funny :) Oh, and I love all the octopus decals. So fun!

Great pics! What is that insane monti cap?
Thanks! I got that grafted monti cap from Coral Kingdom when I was out in Miami last year. Ive seen them for sale from WorldWideCorals and other hobbyists. Ive gotten lots of compliments on it & it is definitely unique!

She comes up and paws on the lower doors to try and sneak in...they are both the cutest and most dangerous pets to have near the fish tanks. My wife suggested the octo decals- Way cooler than just having that insulation logo showing for the next 10 years!
