You're in Sarasota? I'm only about 20 min away in Venice! Come down and see these beauties in person! Send me a PM and we can exchange info. You could propagate. It would take someone very brave with an Inland bandsaw to be able to chop one. I've seen it done, just not very often. I've cut Lobophyllia with a bandsaw before and had the coral live. It really takes a long time to heal though.

I wish I was still in Sarasota. I moved to Miami about 3 months back. Guess I should update my profile.

I really like these corals even the less rainbow one are cool.
Anybody have a pic of one eating?
They look like they could take on a big meal.

That's too bad, Sarasota is beautiful. Here's a pic of the first acanthophyllia eating. It will eat about 20 pellets per feeding.

That's really cool. I found a few of these at a store here in Miami. Thay have one or two that are really nice but way out of my price range. But they also have a few less colorful ones for around $60. I'm thinking I might give one of the less pricy ones a try before jumping in the deep end. I'll post pics if I get one this next weekend.

Keep the pic coming I'm loving this thread:)

On my daily stop into AquaSD yesterday i checked out Will's secret stash of Acantophyllias, he has a ton of super nice ones. If they are still there by the next paycheck i will pick a few up!
