I figured I would provide an update on my dino issues. Thing have gotten much better....

The following seemed to the trick for me:

- Reduce time period by 1 hour.
- I don't run a skimmer, I was doing weekly water changes and switched to biweekly 15% water changes.
- Induce diatom bloom that appeared to outcompete the dinos.
- increase my Vortech mp10 by about 8-10%
- Raise nitrates to 10-12 ppm by dosing nitrates.
- Keep phosphates around 0.06-0.01ppm
- Added two strawberry conchs, 1 emerald crab, and further reinforced clean-up crew (blue legs and trochus snails)
- A week after I added the conchs and clean-up crew reinforcements, the sand bed was just about clear.
- Since then, I have been maintaining my nitrates around 8-12 ppm and phosphates around 0.6-0.01 and returned to 15% weekly water changes. I no longer need to dose nitrates.

this gives me hope. my dinos are still sticking around....Although they do seem to be getting better since i started dosing silicates, phosphates in the form of reef roids, and using Dr Tims Waste away.
