One thing that Eddie didn’t mention is that the frag he got from me had just one small red spot. He can confirm but I would say it was about 1/6 of the coral. Now red is popping up in the middle of green or gold areas. I actually purchased a piece back from him and grew it into one of my colonies to see what would happen. Results are pending…
I've considered purchasing a piece with red to add to my all green one. Did you give the new piece any special acclimation time before letting it come into close contact with your existing pieces?

No I just glued it next to it and they grew together quickly.

the dudes from eurocorals also grafted an acro which is not the rainbow splice from the usa.

I dont if it has a name but its sick!

They use the own system Akil created named Modern Reef.

I Frankensteined my colony. I’ve had it almost a year and no purple ever developed anywhere but the original little slice on the tip. The new frag pic is a piece of the original frag I paid $1600 for. Huge mistake and I regret that purchase more than any I have made in this hobby. So, I cut it off and I’m gonna give that frag a chance to grow the purple. Fingers crossed, we’ll wait another year *sigh*

I snapped a quick phone pic for you this morning. I recently upgraded the plug to a 2” disc so that hopefully that red has plenty of room to spread out. However, I’m very disappointed to see the green randomly popping up in the middle of the red crust. That’s not good considering how fast the green grows in comparison :(
